The History of The Village at Manor Park

Manor Park, Inc. is a not-for-profit, non-denominational organization that is managed by a volunteer Board of Trustees made up of local community leaders. Manor Park, Inc. was originated in 1960 as a dream of Mrs. Elizabeth Fasken and Dr. R. Matthew Lynn to address the needs of the growing number of retired people in Midland and West Texas. Today the Village at Manor Park serves over 500 resident members on the 78-acre campus. The organization is licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community with a wide variety of residences and service plans from which to choose.

Independent Living

The Village at Manor Park offers independent residences for individuals who want to enjoy retirement living in a community where lawn care, housekeeping, repairs and home maintenance are provided to eliminate everyday drudgery. Living in a Continuing Care Retirement Community offers safety, support, community spirit and access to more care or assistance when needed is the basis for living in this community. Services and amenities offered provide ease and relief for older adults wanting to enjoy everyday life without the responsibilities, but who are capable of living without assistance in daily activities. An emergency call system is provided in every Independent Living home. Available through private funding only.

Assisted Living

Licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
Helen Greathouse Manor offers assistance in activities of everyday living in lovely one-bedroom apartments while providing three delicious meals a day, daily housekeeping, weekly linen and personal laundry service, cable TV and access to nursing care. A variety of activities is offered for adults who are aged, developmentally disabled or physically challenged and may need help with personal care, supervision and protection but do not require continuous nursing care. An emergency call system is provided in every apartment.

Memory Support/Dementia Care

Licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
The Vogel Center offers private living accommodations in a homelike
atmosphere. Activities are focused on memory support and utilize heavy interaction and purpose-driven activities. Delicious food and full assistance with activities of daily living are provided. Medical, nursing, psychosocial and rehabilitation services are provided for persons who require 24-hour supervision in a secure environment.

Eldergarden/Alzheimer’s Care

Licensed as a Specialized Alzheimer’s/Dementia Unit
The John F. Younger Alzheimer’s Center offers 24-hour nursing supervision and protective oversight, behavioral intervention, a secure environment, a comfortable living space, housekeeping, laundry service, three daily meals and snacks. The residents also receive assistance with personal care, medication management and opportunities for socialization, social services and organized activities. Residents must be specifically diagnosed for admittance to this center.

Available through private funding or Medicaid or Medicare for limited periods of time.

Eldergarden/Nursing Care

Licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
The Mabee Health Care Center offers private and semi-private rooms, three meals, plus extra snacks each day. Supervision, protective oversight and on-site nursing care are provided around the clock. Assistance with personal care, bathing and dressing, administration of medications, transfer/mobility assistance, housekeeping and laundry service are all included. Social services, opportunities for socialization, and organized activities are also offered.
An emergency call system is provided.

Available through private funding, Medicaid or Medicare for limited periods of time.

Rehab Care

Licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
Three types of therapy (physical, occupational, and speech) are offered in-house in a designated wing at Mabee Health Care Center. The majority of therapy is performed “one on one.”
