Vogel Center provides new level of care
A gift from Al and Mary Vogel and their son, Dr. Robert A. Vogel, was given to support the construction of the Vogel Center within the Helen Greathouse Manor, which offers a new level of assisted living services for residents in the very early stages of Alzheimer's or dementia related disorders in need of memory support. The Vogel Center is located in the South wing of the new Helen Greathouse Manor. According to Alan Hale, Executive Director of Manor Park, Inc., "The services provided in the Vogel Center strengthen the Manor Park continuum of care and we are very appreciative to the Vogel family for their gift." Al Vogel and Dr. Robert Vogel also contribute generously of their time to improve the quality of life for the residents of Manor Park.
The Vogel family has had a long association with Manor Park, which began when Mary Vogel's mother was a resident at Trinity Towers from 1986 to 1996. Having had family members and friends who were residents in the Manor Park family of services, Al Vogel came to understand the value of the services the organization provides to senior adults in our community. Mr. Al Vogel became a member of the Board of Trustees in 1996 and continues to serve our organization in that capacity today. In January 2003, Dr. Robert Vogel became the Medical Director at Manor Park. He has a strong interest in geriatric medicine and has previously served many of our residents as their primary physician. He is a favorite among staff because of his kind heart and gentle nature. Manor Park is appreciative of the support and dedication of the Vogel family toward the mission of Manor Park and the care of our residents.
